Help!!

I was just called as Primary President today, and I am seriously worried. I have not spent much time in Primary since I was in it myself! A brief stint as a nursery assistant back in 2005 doesn't necessarily qualify me. And I thought Girls Camp was a challenge!

Anyway, I would LOVE it if you could give me your best tips, advice, things you've seen and liked, things you haven't liked--anything you have to say related to Primary. Thanks!

  1. They will think you were the best president ever if they can just feel how much you love them...

I love primary. It's SO awesome. Let's see...some tips...where to start...I think, like Spencer, that the most important thing is that the children feel your love for them and that you help them feel the love of their Savior. Learn each of their names ASAP. Our primary president goes around the room and shakes each child's hand, calls them by name, and welcomes them to primary. Every week. That's really cool.

You'll do great. I used www.theideadoor.com and www.sugardoodle.net for ideas when I was first counselor. They have some great ones and their from people in the same position as you are. Also you can't go wrong with the children's friend!!

  7. How fun. good luck. Learning their names is a big plus. It it helpful to have a great secretary. We had two wonderful ones that kept us up to date with everything. That was so awesome. I wasn't president, but she was awesome because she would follow upp on things she asked us to do, and always offered to help us complete our assignments - although mostly she didn't need to. I hope you enjoy primary as much as I did. seeing them grow and learn is awesome!
